Cycling in Tallinn offers more options to discover. Tallinn Old Town is best suited for exploring on foot, but all the rest of its highlights? The perfect way to see them all is on a bicycle. With just a few hours you can get a comprehensive overview of Tallinn’s other main sights.
We will start at the Soviet City Hall, one of the greatest examples of Soviet architecture in the country. Then trace the seaside to reach Song Festival Grounds, a place of immense significance to Estonian people and the most important gathering place in the country. Nearby, Kadriorg is not only filled with beautiful historic wooden architecture, but has Estonia’s most famous park, one of the greatest examples of baroque palace architecture in Northern Europe, and Estonia’s presidential palace, all set in beautiful greenery. From here we head back to the Center and turn our bikes north, visiting the infamous Patarei Prison and the impressively massive hangars of the Seaplane Harbour, home to the award-winning Maritime Museum. You dont need a ticket to admire the host of historic ships surrounding it. Around here, the Noblessner Quarter is Tallinn’s brand-new trendiest area, whereas nearby Kalamaja is its original „hipster“ area, filled with beautiful wooden houses, street art, galleries, cafes and small creative enterprises. We finish the tour in its main market, where you can fill yourself with some street food and then head on to explore the Old Town on your own if you want, as it is just across the street.
